Flight Video Magazine has mounted cameras on everything from hangliders to jets. G Force is an extreme aerobatics video with a focus on onboard video cameras. This short and fast paced production, with a fine balance of shots from the ground and the onboard video cameras, puts you right in the pilot's seat. The use of small video cameras called mini-cams, micro-cams, or helmet-cams can be mounted anywhere on the aerobatic planes. A really great example of Hollywood movies about aerobatics is "Cloud Dancers" with David Carradine and Jennifer O'Neil. The producer and director, Barry Brown, used Pitts aerobatic planes with modified structures to enable the film cameras to be mounted to different parts of the plane. The aerobatics in that movie come across so well, it leaves you wondering how it was even possible.
The following aircraft and performers are highlighted: Julie Clark / T-34, Eddie Andreini / Super Stearman, Sean D. Tucker / Challenger Pitts, Jim LeRoy / Bulldog Pitts, Dan Buchanan / Hanglider, Barry Hancock / L-39, Jimmy Franklin and Lee Oman / Waco, Kirby Chambliss / Pitts, F-18 Hornet, Frank Ryder / Super Chipmunk, F-15 Eagle, Jason Newburg / Extra 300, A-10 warthog, and the Red Baron Squadron with the U.S. Army Golden Knights / Stearman. Strap in for a wild ride!
