Mike Conway, the 19 year old from England, started at the 9th pole position and was immediately consummed in the seven car mayhem at turn 2 of the first lap. Despite that, he drove a great race and worked his way back through the pack to take third place. Watch out for this young man in the future.

Team Penske drivers Ryan Briscoe and Helio Castroneves wind through turn 10 at the Sonoma Indy Grand Prix. Ryan Briscoe finished second and Helio Castroneves suffered from a later contact and a mechanical failure that put him out of the race just a few laps from the end.
