The F/A-18F Super Hornet flew high speed passes that generated massive vapor clouds. Sunday at the California International Airshow(CIAS) the air's moisture content was near maximum as the marine layer hovered just north of the show. As the day progressed, the airshow shifted from blue sky to low clouds. Most performers performed low shows as the weather deteriorated. The Super Hornet did the low show and really wowed the crowd with constant vapor clouds surrounding the aircraft.
The 1988 Moffett International Airshow was an action packed event that drew a record amount of airshow fans over the three days of perfect California weather.

This Blue Angel solo was into the turn at max G's! Note the football shaped vortex developing behind the antenna blade. Right after shooting this frame, I was just about blown over. It was awesome!

I took a break shooting video, and picked up the 35mm camera when the Blue Angels did their pre-show practice. The solos were doing their break turns right over my head and the vapor coming off the wings was intense.
