This Comet McNaught footage was shot from the Sierra Nevada foothills between South Lake Tahoe and Sacramento, California. There is a bit of haze, but it was clearly visible right after sunset on 12 January, 2007. There are wide shots and a some that are zoomed in. A couple segments are run at 30 times normal speed. Due to the tail length, a bit of wide angle seemed to produce a better visual image. 7x35 and 10x50 binoculars also produced a great view. A telescope would have been great if not for the sunset occurring at the same time.
