Solar eclipse and AR2192 on the 23rd of October, 2014. The prominent giant sunspot AR2192 faces directly at earth and was emitting M and X class solar flares. Without a solar filter, I added my neutral density filter that cut the light by nine f stops.(ND400) I still needed to reduce the brightness a bit more, so I put on a polarizer. It would be nice to get the light cut down by another six f stops or so. I'm putting a solar filter on my shopping list.
