Solar Eclipse and Sunspot AR2192

Solar Eclipse and Sunspot AR2192

Solar eclipse and AR2192 on the 23rd of October, 2014. The prominent giant sunspot AR2192 faces directly at earth and was emitting M and X class solar flares. Without a solar filter, I added my neutral density filter that cut the light by nine f stops.(ND400) I still needed to reduce the brightness a bit more, so I put on a polarizer. It would be nice to get the light cut down by another six f stops or so. I'm putting a solar filter on my shopping list.
Photo details: Canon 7D, Canon 70-200L IS f2.8, Canon 1.4x extender, Hoya ND400 filter, Hoya polarizing filter
exposure: 1/8000th at f28 ISO 100
