Paul Lopez Knife Edge Pass In The MX-2

Paul Lopez and the knife edge pass flying the MX-2 at the Pacific Coast Air Museum's "Wings Over Wine Country" Airshow 2008. The PCAM is located at the Charles M. Schultz-Sonoma County Airport in Northern California. The airfield has a rich history from WW II as a U.S. Army Air Force pilot training base for P-38 Lightnings and the P-39 Cobra and Navy pilot training for both WW II and the Korean War. The PCAM has a wide variety of aircraft restored and in the restoration process. Among the museums displays are the F-16 Viper, UH-34 Choctaw Helicopter, A-4E Skyhawk, F-4C Phantom II, F-5 Freedom Fighter, T-28 Trojan, A-6E Intruder, F-14A Tomcat, RF-86F Sabre, UH-1H Huey, F-106 Delta Dart, T-38 Talon, HU-16E Albatross, F-105 Thunderchief, A-26 Invader, F-8C Crusader, T-37 Tweet, IL-14 Crate, AV-8C Harrier, BD-5J, C-118 Liftmaster, S-2A Tracker, F-84F Thunderstreak, F-86H Sabre, and S-2 Pitts Special.

***UPDATE: 9 March, 2009 Dade City, Florida Paul Lopez crashes.

Paul Lopez and a passenger in the MX-2 were killed when the engine apparently failed. According to a witness, the plane was in a spin when the engine quit. Paul performed flat spins as part of his airshow routine. Our prayers go out to Paul and his passenger's family and friends.
