The Viper West F-16 demo at the Beale AFB airshow was intense!
Home of the U. S. Air Force 9th Reconnaissance Wing, Beale Air Force Base operates the U-2 "Dragon Lady" and the RQ-4 Global Hawk. Beale AFB is located in Northern California, a few miles east of the town of Marysville.
Performers at this year's show were the Patriots JetTeam flying the Aero L-39, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-16 Viper West, U-2 Dragon Lady, T-38 Talon, C-17 Globemaster, Kent Pietsch 1942 Interstate Cadet, Warren Pietsch 1946 Taylorcraft, Tim Weber Extra 300S, Tim Decker Pitts S-2B, Eddie Andreini Yak-9U and the Super Stearman, and the U. S. Air Force Heritage Flight. Numerous statics displays filled the ramp and provided airshow fans with plenty to see and do before and after the airshow. Among the most popular static display aircraft were the U-2, RQ4, C-5, KC-10, and B-52. The Beale military police had K-9 handling shows and the ever popular Hummer with a machine gun turret was available for guests to fire blank rounds.
It was a great event and I look forward to the 2010 show!
